Several people have contacted me over the last few days regarding a presentation on Social Networking at Stampin' Up's recent Leadership conference.
According to those who were there, during the presentation, the speaker recommended using your personal Facebook page to promote your stamping business.
Please do NOT do this! It is a violation of Facebook's Terms of Service, and it will get your account suspended or removed!
Facebook's Help section spells this out quite clearly:
"Per our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, Facebook profiles must represent an individual. Users aren't permitted to maintain an account under the name of their organization, or use personal accounts to advertise or promote themselves professionally."
To promote your business, you must set up a Business Page through your personal account!
In addition to it being the legal way to do things on Facebook, having a Business Page also gives you features and benefits you wouldn't have if you were promoting yourself through your personal page.
If you would like to know, step-by-step, how to set up a Facebook Business Page that attracts search engines, builds your list and makes you money, as well as how to drive traffic to that Page, I'd invite you to register for the upcoming Social Networking Boot Camp.
The Boot Camp begins February 1st, but the Early Bird Discouint expires TODAY!
