FREE WEBINAR - Facebook for Business: Explained!

Webinarfree Recently, there's been a lot of confusion about what you can and cannot do when it comes to promoting, or even talking about your business on your personal Facebook Page.

As a result of this confusion, I've received a LOT of questions about what, specifically, you can say, or whether you can say anything at all about your business on your personal page.

Some of those questions include:

  • If I'm getting ready for a workshop, can I talk about that on my personal page?
  • Can I link to my blog or website from my personal page?
  • Can I show pictures of my projects on my personal page?
  • Can I talk about my downline on my personal page?
  • What's the difference between my personal page and a Business Page?
  • If I 'Like' my own Business Page, and those updates appear on my personal page, will that get me in trouble?
  • What if my customers are already my Facebook Friends?
  • ...and more.

To help end the confusion, I've decided to do a free webinar on Thursday, January 27th, at 10:00 p.m. eastern entitled, "Facebook for Business: Explained!"

During the webinar, I'll show you

  • how Facebook is structured
  • discuss Facebook's Terms of Service as written AND how Facebook is interpreting those rules in the real world
  • discuss the advantages and disadvantages of personal vs. Business pages
  • answer the questions listed above, as well as any questions you might have

By the end of this free webinar, I hope to give you enough information to allow you to decide how you wish to proceed on this incredibly important social networking site.

There are only 1,000 spaces for this free webinar, so don't hesitate to sign up.

Hope to see you there!

FRIDAY PHOTO TIP: How Stable Are You?

One of the most common problems new photographers have is the ability to take a sharp picture.  You would think that auto focus would take care of this problem.  However, blurry images are usually not a problem with focus, but a shaky camera.

In situations where your camera shutter has to remain open for a longer period of time (low light situations, etc.) any movement you make when depressing the shutter button will blur the image.   Here are a few tips to eliminate this problem:

  • Use a tripod
  • Use a two handed grip – one hand wrapped around the side and back of the camera with one finger over the shutter button and the other hand supporting the camera and lens from underneath
  • Don’t breath – holding your breath for a moment before you take the shot will allow you to better control your body's movement
  • Brace yourself – take the picture sitting down or leaning against something for additional support
  • Increase the shutter speed – you can either do this by manually controlling the shutter speed, if possible, or increasing the light in the photo

Your life isn’t blurry and your photos don’t have to be!

If you have any questions or would like me to address a particular photography issue, please leave a comment below.

You CANNOT Do This... Despite What You May Have Been Told!

Several people have contacted me over the last few days regarding a presentation on Social Networking at Stampin' Up's recent Leadership conference.

According to those who were there, during the presentation, the speaker recommended using your personal Facebook page to promote your stamping business.

Please do NOT do this!  It is a violation of Facebook's Terms of Service, and it will get your account suspended or removed!

Facebook's Help section spells this out quite clearly:

"Per our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, Facebook profiles must represent an individual. Users aren't permitted to maintain an account under the name of their organization, or use personal accounts to advertise or promote themselves professionally."

To promote your business, you must set up a Business Page through your personal account!

In addition to it being the legal way to do things on Facebook, having a Business Page also gives you features and benefits you wouldn't have if you were promoting yourself through your personal page.

If you would like to know, step-by-step, how to set up a Facebook Business Page that attracts search engines, builds your list and makes you money, as well as how to drive traffic to that Page, I'd invite you to register for the upcoming Social Networking Boot Camp

The Boot Camp begins February 1st, but the Early Bird Discouint expires TODAY!

And PLEASE PASS THIS POST ALONG (by clicking any of the sharing links below) to prevent your fellow Demos from doing something that may get them in trouble!
