PRODUCTIVITY TIP - The Most Important Part Of Your Office...
Your professional life is separate from your personal life, and your professional space should be separate, as well.
A door allows you to shut out distractions, both visual and audible. It allows you to focus on the tasks at hand, which makes you more productive.
Even if you don't have a solid door, any kind of divider (a curtain, standing shutters, etc.) will help maintain your boundaries and allow you to get more done in less time.

With Elderly parents who know I have office hours- and show up at the door anytime they please, its really hard. Now that the teenagers are out of the house and I am home all day alone *yay* It's become a lot easier. However, before that time, I had to set boundaries door or not- you have to teach others to respect your time and sometimes they just HAVE to make and appointment!
