This Piece of Advice Will Get You Banned From Facebook

I've received several e-mails over the weekend and this morning about a piece of advice that's been circulating in stamping circles regarding promoting your stamping business through your personal Facebook page.

Please note, this is a violation of Facebook's Terms of Service.  You cannot use your personal Facebook page to promote your business.  If Facebook discovers you're doing this, either on their own or because someone reported you, Facebook WILL yank your account.

You also cannot set up a second personal account to promote your business exclusively.  If Facebook finds out you're doing this, they'll yank both accounts.

The only way Facebook really allows you to promote your business is with a Fan Page.  And, frankly, it's also the best way, as Fan Pages are public and searchable.

Please remember, whenever anyone gives you a piece of advice, no matter how well-meaning they are, to double-check it.  Especially if it's not their area of expertise.
